Hi Mike. Just wondering how common it is for men not to be able to last in bed.
Premature ejaculation is a lot more widespread than the majority of individuals presume. While it will affect each man differently and to varying degrees it is estimated 30% of men will experience premature ejaculation.
This figure will go up or down, depending on the way you define premature ejaculation.
Clinically, premature ejaculation can be defined in many ways but you may be “diagnosed” as having PE if you exhibit one or more of the following symptoms
- Usually ejaculate within 1 minute of penetration
- You are unable to delay your ejaculation all or most of the time
- Either you or your partner is significantly unhappy with the duration of intercourse
Note: Medical folks love to use terms like “diagnose” or “suffering from” but I avoid this kind of language when disusing early ejaculation. That’s because 95% of the time PE is caused be a lack of skills, knowledge and practice rather than being a specific medical problem.
